…so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean...

Leadership Team
The administration and faculty at PS 11 are thought leaders in their disciplines who are unyielding in their commitment to our students. They bring varied and rich experiences from many corners of the United States and the world. The leadership and faculty have a shared mission to equip every child with the foundation needed to be strong leaders that can go confidently forth as they live the life they imagine.
Ms. Hope was named Principal at PS 11 in 2014, after serving as Assistant Principal at the school for approximately 10 years. A proven leader and a firm believer in service, Ms. Hope has dedicated her life and career to educating the whole child and giving the children perspectives to compete as global citizens. She started her career in the classroom in the public school setting. Originally from South America, Ms. Hope and her family reside in Brooklyn. She finds her center through meditation and yoga and when she has the time, she loves to read over a steaming cup of green tea.
PS 11 is a phenomenal school that I have been a proud member of for over twenty years. It fills me with a great deal of pride to say that I have been at this school for my entire professional career and have had a hand in its continuous success - as a teacher, Math Coach, and now Assistant Principal. As an educator, I believe it is imperative that we truly embody the title of Lifelong Learner. It is not just the fact that all children can learn, which of course is the reality, but that it is our charge and calling as educators to guide and direct students along the path of intellectual success. As a mom of two (a PS 11 student and a toddler) as well, I’ve always felt that an involved and informed parent can be an educator's strongest asset. As the Assistant Principal, I look forward to working with teachers to plan and implement stellar instruction, to encouraging students to flourish academically, socially and emotionally, and to partnering with parents to support their child’s academic achievement.
Mr. Rand’s relationship with PS 11 goes back to 1995 when his eldest daughter was a kindergarten student. Since then, he has served in volunteer capacities as a tutor, assistant basketball coach, and PTA President (just to name a few), all of this prior to joining PS 11 staff as the Parent Coordinator almost 15 years ago. In his everyday, he leverages his experience as an elementary school parent, leader and advocate to foster the community feel PS 11 is known for. Mr. Rand is unrivaled in his enthusiasm and fabulous musical taste. If you hear booming music that makes you want to pick up and dance, you can be sure Mr. Rand is not far away.
Teaching Faculty
Our teachers proudly take on the task of developing carefully designed curriculum in alignment with the Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS), constantly assessing curricular goals and objectives and refining practices accordingly. To support learning styles, teachers incorporate technology in all subject areas.
