2011 Readathon

The Readathon 2011 was another great success for the students of PS 11!!

Thank you for your support!

Donations/Sponsorships are still being accepted.

The Readathon
is an important fundraising activity in which PS11 kids get to raise money for the school while reading!

How does the Readathon work?
Children find adult sponsors to pledge a certain amount of money for every minute read.  We suggest 5-10 cents/minute, but all contributions are welcome.  Write down the sponsors’ name and pledge amount on the Readathon Pledge Form.  Make sure your child knows to ask you before asking another adult to sponsor him/her.  Then your child writes down the minutes spent every day reading outside the classroom on the Readathon Log.  Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students can include minutes that adults spend reading to them.

When was the Readathon?
The Readathon ran from
Saturday, October 8, 2011 to Friday, November 4, 2011.

Where does the money go?
The money raised during the Readathon goes to support our Recess Initiative.
